What a success!!!! Thank you to all of those who participated. We were able to run a great contest that ran smoothly and efficiently. We heard great reviews from those in attendance and are well on our way to running this event annually.
To all interested parties:
The Col. John Chester Fife and Drum Corps is hosting an IDT&Q competition on Saturday, April 9th. The competition is open to all interested parties. The purpose of the competition is to provide an “off season” competition opportunity and reach beyond the Connecticut Fifers and Drummers Association (CF&DA), Northeastern States Association and other traditional fife and drum corps associations and host an “Open Competition” that welcomes individuals as well as members of non-competitive corps.
Below are the links to the sample documents, as well as, the rules:
It is strongly recommended that all contestants pre-register. Registration fees can be paid the day of the meet. All pre-registration should be sent to Michelle Randall by March1st at MLRand2@hotmail.com or Col. John Chester Fife and Drum Corps, Attn: Michelle Randall, PO Box 290305 Wethersfield. CT 06129.
The registration table will be open from 10:00-11:00am. All contestants must check in before 11:00am to get their time assignments. Anyone who has not pre-registered may register at this time for any of the remaining time slots available. The meet is expected to run from 11:00am until 5:00pm. The “Open” competition will begin after 5:00pm when all the “Standard” and “Age Group” categories are closed.
Each individual and each member of a duet/trio/quartet will pay a $5.00 registration fee for each event they are competing in. A $5.00 facility fee will be assessed for the day per contestant to cover the cost of the school facility. Facility fees for multiple members of an immediate family will be capped at $10.00. There will be no registration fee for the Open Individual Final Competition. Again registration fees can be paid the day of the meet.
If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to email Joe Campbell at joeatbrook@aol.com.
We look forward to seeing you the day of the meet.
